17世紀末，美國麻州的塞勒姆村發生一起有關於女巫的審判案，總計有20位被告因為涉嫌使用巫術而被處死，儘管判決過程中缺乏證據，但基於違背教義以及道德瑕疵等因素，還是讓許多無辜百姓慘死在無理的審判之下。這段過去，也成為了麻州塞勒姆地區，永遠的歷史傷痛。
